Vacations Planning |
|
The
planning of all family vacations starts with the reading and understanding
of the general
information about the destination. Martin
found the reference to the author Patricia A. Holt who wrote in her
Cozumel: The Complete Guide gives detailed information about Cozumel Island’s
entry requirements, language, behavior, currency, and other important
things such as airlines and hotels. First of all, the author recommends
requesting and acquiring all the appropriate documentation for traveling
to Cozumel. For example, for U.S. citizens driving through Mexico,
Holt recommends to obtain an international passport or Birth Certificate.
In addition, the author says that while Spanish language is official
at Cozumel, many people speak English there as it is an international
business language. Also, Holt talks about the clothing attire at the
island. For example, she warns that locals scorn those who wear swimming
suits on public streets, because Cozumel is a very family oriented
community.
The currency exchange is ten pesos for one dollar, according to the
author of Cozumel: The Complete Guide. As far as airlines and hotels, there are plenty of these for various tastes and budgets. To get to Cozumel one can only by air or by water. There are many airlines that fly directly to Cozumel International Airport but also there are those that fly only to Cancun. From Cancun it is possible to take a bus to a car ferry, which can take one to the island for a very reasonable price. Aeromexico, American Airlines, Continental, and Delta are some of the airlines that can take one to Cozumel Island. Lodgings include family-run and franchise hotels to resorts. Some people prefer to rent homes and stay there for the duration of their vacations. |
